Read the energy label before paying for a washer upgrade

Compare Malaysian washer models by fit, useful capacity and documented energy information—not the promotion alone.
Use the Energy Commission’s product information to check the exact model, then compare the total delivered cost.
Check the model, not just the display card
Malaysia’s Energy Commission includes washers among the regulated energy-using product categories. Its official product information provides a route to checking the applicable efficiency requirements and certified products. A retailer’s “energy saving” headline is not a substitute for the exact model details.
Take a photo of the model number, energy label and quoted price together. Check that the capacity and variant on the quote match the display unit. Similar names can hide a different drum size or specification.
Decide what the larger machine solves
List the laundry you normally wash separately. If most loads are small, a bigger drum may not solve your daily problem. If bedding is the reason for upgrading, check the manufacturer’s programme and load guidance rather than assuming the headline kilogram rating applies to every wash.
Measure the doorway and installation space, including room for hoses and the door to open. Ask a qualified installer about connection changes; do not improvise electrical or plumbing work to make a bargain fit.
Compare the whole quote
Use two columns with the same services: appliance, delivery, installation, optional kit and old-machine removal. Ask whether access restrictions change the delivery charge. Add warranty and repair arrangements as conditions, not invented cash savings.
If model A costs RM200 more, write down which useful benefit justifies that difference. An energy-cost comparison needs compatible consumption data and your applicable electricity charges. We have not measured either model, and a higher rating is not a guarantee of a particular household bill or cleaning result.
